Sorry, the past weeks were very busy. I’m involved into two very big projects and that’s a very time intensive thing…..
I’m looking so much for the holidays – uuuuhhhh!!!
Here is a little summary about the last weeks – the places I’ve been, the disappointing thing with the Isabel Marant studded booties, inspirational and unique styled Sasha P., fab finds in sale and a fun tag – sent to me by the most gorgeous LittleRus from Fashion Titbits!! Sorry about the disappointment. That really is quite the dilemma when you are trying to decide if you should buy the real thing or the knockoff. And even worse is when the quality of the knockoff is on par or even better! PSHAW! Although I do love Isabel Marant to pieces, I do believe her line is a little overpriced especially the shoes. I tried on some really cute flat ankle booties but they were way out of my budget. I figured I could find something similar for a fraction of the cost anyway.

i have to admit i’d missed your posts and this is a great ‘payback’ one! no, not cos you gave me a near heart attack for tagging me. lol. i really enjoyed your collages. and your advice there – well i’m not in the same league so if i do comment, i wonder if people will say i’m just being sour grapes about it. oh well, to each her own :) those YSL boots are indeed oh so gorg. i do believe in quality. another 2 years and they’d have served you 10 years. that’s what quality is about, man.

Oh, my sweet darling, you are so incredibly kind to me! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED your list. I think I need to find some of the artists you’ve mentioned and listen to their music and I was also excited to see that we not only share love for Mika, but also Sophie, George and Sade.
Sasha is one of my favourite models It took me some time to fall in love with her, but eventually I did and have been collecting her beautiful editorials for a while now. She’s got such a unique face and style.
Sorry to hear about the booties!!!! What a shame! But still, darling, you’ve got that incredibly gorgeous pair of YSL!!! Frankly, I am jealous, in a good way, but still am. Basically I wish I had a pair like this myself. You are right – they are timeless.

I’m so sorry to hear about the Isabel Marant bootie fiasco! My heart sunk when I found out how much they were– and they were definitely beyond my budget this season. I didn’t even try… :( In this economy, we definitely demand more for our money and I agree with you– they are overpriced. Ugh!
As for your sale finds- va va va voom! Great Topshop buys. The sales this month are going to be the death of me. I’m heading to this Refinery29 sale tonight and then there’s the issue of all the holiday spending. I usually end up buying a little here and there for myself as well. Sigh. What an expensive month!

Oh honey, I’m so sorry about the IM boots. It’s quite bad, because when I saw the prototype from the runway, they were actually very well-made and quite heavy (I think I mentioned this to you), but when I finally picked up and looked at a piece in the IM boutique two weeks ago, I was very surprised by the quality and how cheap the studding looked. I hope you can return the pair you got? I also noticed the thigh-high suede Marant boots are very very thin. I tried them on and was so shocked they wanted 800+ EUR for it. I don’t know what’s up with the brand, but I guess a lot of the hyped pieces will end up being more badly made to accomodate for the people wanting them (I have issues with a few current season Balmain items as well).
ANYWAY, please let me know if you’re still coming to Paris next month and when! I just got back from an extended weekend break and I’ll be in Florence for one weekend in two weeks, but I’ll definitely be around for the first half of December! Take care xoxo

(Blog answer) I don’t want to spoil anything ;) There were some things that the book-readers might dislike a bit, but in general – awesome! I laughed, I cried, I tried to find my breath after seeing Taylor Lautner without a shirt, and I smiled a LOT. The end was mean, because now I HAVE to see Eclipse!
i found the lacroix dress i was looking for! it’s a size too big but i found a vintage+couture seamstress that is altering it for me. i’ll let you know how it turns out! i’m excited and nervous about it at the same time.

Hey Sofie, I’m sorry I missed this! And too bad about the boots. I can’t tell from the photo that they look cheap, but I understand completely how you feel.
Every time I see a pair of pants for over $500 without lining, I’m furious. Or a $1500 dress without lining. I can go on and on. To me, it seems like designers think they can get away with quality and charge ridiculous amounts of money for anything remotely resembling “high quality.”
My mother used a tailor growing up and I can still wear those clothes today–they were impeccably made and reasonably priced. *SIGH* Those days are over.
ANyway, thanks for the sweet note recently. I love fashion but it tires me out sometimes.

So yes, we’ll see about the blog. Part of me wants to care less about the hype–but I find that very hard to do.
