When I’m keeping my fingers crossed tonight….

… for Kate Winslet I will also cross my fingers for JESSICA DIEHL!

Didn’t you ask yourself about the new look of Kate Winslet? Very sophisticated, sexy, classic elegant, flawless – perfect… The woman behind her new styling is Jessica Diehl!!

“Jessica Diehl arrived in New York from her native Germany in 1995 and proceeded, as the saying goes, to take the city by storm. Her first stop on this journey was as an assistant to stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele followed by work with Vogue creative director Grace Coddington. She remained at Vogue for three years as a contributing editor and by 2006 was appointed Senior Style Editor at Vanity Fair.”

And this is Jessica 14 years ago, before she has left Germany to conquer NYC and the whole fashion world :)

She always had this remarkable and sure sense for style.

You won’t need it – but I’m wishing you lots of luck that your attended actress will win the Oscar tonight, Jessica!!!

Beatrice Boyle for Brown Focus

“Browns have made a name for themselves in fashion talent spotting and now the Browns team have taken it a step further by collaborating with an illustration graduate. Beatrice Boyle has just completed a fashion illustration course at London College of Fashion and has worked closely with the Browns Focus buyer to create a capsule collection of printed t-shirts, tanks and t-shirt dresses. Having worked at Jas M.B., Boyle decided to go down the route of illustration and painting as opposed to fashion and this collaboration is a perfect synergy of the two.”

Latest purchase: BERT by Steve Madden

Let me introduce you to “Bert”….

I was so disappointed about the worse condition of my black MMM ordered booties when they have arrived. So I have returned them immediately and went for these lovely look-a-likes by Steve Madden….

Yeah, they’re no Margielas, sad, sad thing – but for $ 199 bucks I had to go for them instead.

And Then There Was One

FOUR innovative new designers, a panel of the fashion industry’s finest, a lot of hard work, four collections and three months later, and the winner of Fashion Fringe has been announced. Go By A Secret Path, aka designer Eun Jeong Hong, yesterday earned herself a rather nice end of week treat in the shape of £100,000, as well as continuous support from the Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden team to kick start her professional design career.

“I am lost for words – I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity by Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden. The last few months have been incredible and the support we have received from the Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden team and mentors has been invaluable,” she said.

“Fashion Fringe has a power,” Roland Mouret, selection panel member, had explained backstage before the show, where he was joined by Fashion Fringe founder Colin McDowell and this year’s Fashion Fringe chair, Donatella Versace.

“It gives the possibility as a designer to start your own business in London where there is a lot of passion and creativity. I hope that whoever doesn’t win, with all the coverage from the press, will get picked up on too,” Versace said.

With four entirely different collections and a buzz around the room for each, we’re sure that’ll be the case.
